Project: Joie de Vivre bio picture

Welcome to Project: Joie de Vivre!

I'm a wedding photographer who is also fired up and passionate about
helping others find their joie de vivre, "the joy of living."

When studying abroad in France in college, I learned a lot about the world and how life should be enjoyed like a fine glass of wine or a delectable piece of chocolate. How can we enjoy life if we are caught up doing what we must instead of finding what we love?

What makes you happy? What
lights a fire inside? This blog is an exploration of all that. As the title suggests, this is an ongoing project. A work in progress. And I hope you may be inspired to find your Joie de Vivre. The joy of living.

Vintage Parisian Love Story

Who doesn’t love a little Vintage Parisian love story photo shoot with a behind the scenes video?! I know I do! I found this on the Parisian Party, the offical blog of Parisian Events, owned by Kim Petyt, a wedding planner in Paris. What a dream! Someday, we will meet and collaborate! Behind the Scene...

Wisdom from Will Smith

I found this video of Will Smith from my buddy Jeff Holt, and I couldn’t wait to share. While I’ll let you make your own decision about the content of the video, I’ll just say that it speaks so much to where I am in life and what I want to be doing. Finding and...

5 Silly Things

What are your five silly things that you’d love to at least try once? A friend recently shared this exercise with me from Julia Cameron’s The Artist’s Way. And it really made me think. It seemed easy on the surface, but it actually took some thinking. Do you ever imagine like this? I think it’s...

The Sweet Life in Paris

I’m loving my Netflix today. They just added Julie & Julia to the list of movies you can stream online. And I’m in love. I saw the movie back when it came out in the summer. Alone. That’s right, I went to the movie by myself. It was during the blazing Texas heat in August,...

Say it loud. Say it proud.

Ever get that feeling that you have this big idea. This amazing dream. This thing that you have to make happen? But you haven’t the slightest inkling of how you would begin to pull it off? Yeah, I have those moments too. Like, all the time. I remember when I first talked about becoming a...

Who are you at your core?

Welcome to Friday and the last day of Spring. Here in the Dallas area it’s supposed to dip down into the 30s with a possibility of sleet or snow. Tomorrow. Also known as the first day of Spring. Crazy! I just wanted to take some time today, before Spring comes into full bloom and Spring...

La Tartine Gourmande, c’est delicieux.

It’s delicious. I found La Tartine Gourmande a couple of months ago by accident and I was hooked. French blog. French food. French writing. LOVE! And I love that the author, Béa, is a food stylist/photographer/writer who shares her passion of food and cooking for all the world to share. Everytime I read a new...

My Dreams are Not Your Dreams

I didn’t consider this notion right away. When I put my dreams out in the open, I kind of expected my friends and family to just encourage me. Tell me to go for it. It wasn’t until a friend questioned my dreams that I started to consider it. It wasn’t until another friend pointed out...

Friend Detox

Do you need a friend detox? Are there people in your life that bring you down, that suck the energy and life right out of you, that you could certainly do without? If there are, why haven’t you let them go yet? Earlier this week, I was talking to two friends who had a mutual...
